Just as is fitting for Tartu, once a year you can enjoy morning coffee with the mayor.

On the City’s celebration morning at ten o’clock, Mayor Urmas Klaas will serve coffee on the terrace of the theatre café Aplaus 1870 and find out how the people of Tartu are doing. The conversation will cover things that have happened or been done in the city over the past year, as well as what’s currently underway or coming soon. All Tartus residents are welcome to join the discussion.

The morning chat will end with an acoustic concert by Jaan Pehk, featuring the piece “Kiri algab kirikust” (“The Letter Begins at the Church”), dedicated to the Estonian Year of the Book.

Jaan Pehk (born June 13, 1975, in Palivere) is an Estonian writer, singer, and guitarist. He is a member of the Tartu Young Authors’ Association and the Estonian Writers’ Union. As a solo musician, he has performed under the pseudonym Orelipoiss.
